80 TIMES
June 28th, 2010
I shot this with (my) Mamiya RB67, and this was the result. Somehow the tabs that release the next Polaroid, got stuck together and proceeded to pull out the next Polaroid halfway connected to this one below (I think creating the lack of processing on the left hand side as a result..) and so on and so forth, for the remaining pack of Polaroids- ruined. At least I got 6 shots out of a 10 pack, and got this lil gemicon below..

BY THE GRACE OF GOD
May 17th, 2010
I was in Baja this past week on the heaviest trip yet; Four [4] flat tires (two for me, two for Kass) – a broken battery bracket – Jens truck got stuck three or four times in sand/moon dust – I got arrested (see below) – John & I both coasted downhill in a heavy mountain range with our gas lights on for 25+ miles – SXXXS – I drove 19+ hours straight – Tanner’s daisy flew off the roof – Kass’ rack broke – got lost on the dirt road at least 15 times (hired a couple of local fisherman to lead the way..) – drove more at night than during the day.. oh yeah, and scored the best surf of my life. It is literally by the grace of God that we all made it home as safely as we did; can’t wait to go back :)
(the below polaroid was shot on TIP’s ‘chocolate‘ batch they released- unaltered positive; just added typing. The nail tip is what caused one of my flat tires, and the ticket is from my wonderful decision making..)

It is honestly a truly humbling experience, being able to be around some of thee most amazing human beings who are paying tribute to one of thee finest shapers, quality/humorous people, and a solid mentor; school or shaping- on one of the most beautiful days of the year we’ve been blessed with so far. Mike Marshall- you will be missed.

Met up with Tanner yesterday to get some shots of him shaping a Daisy model for Jeffery Jones. The Daisy model is totally mental- one of the raddest mid-lengths I think I’ve ever seen. I’m getting an 8ft. 6in. done as soon as this one for Jeffrey is glassed.

MAD WOLF REGION
February 1st, 2010
I’ve been in this super gnarly rut lately and am having trouble trying to do pretty much everything. I’ve noticed these feelings and mental blocks come and go- but it is always the same exact feeling. I usually will drive around alone listening to music in my truck until I can find something to photograph; helping me to think a bit better. I ended up in this abandoned parking lot in the middle of nowhere yesterday. I looked down, and this is what I saw.. I’ve been spending so much time looking up lately- that I’ve completely forgotten to look down…

I shot these two polaroids with the MamiyaRB67 about a week or two before Scotty moved. Me, him, Turk, and Scott Sr. had just finished shooting some riding shots, and Scotty’s ‘73 shovelhead’s was having some issues with the distributor. Scott Sr. needed to retard the distributor in order for it to work; This process took a total of about 20 minutes before he had the bike started again. Man, that is a dad- someone who not only supports any and everything you do, but helps you with virtually anything you need assistance with.

SPLASH BACK
November 20th, 2009
So like I said yesterday- I ventured to Tyler Hatzikian’s garage in El Segundo, CA with Scott Stopnik Sr. & Jr. to pick up Scotty’s new Test Pilot model with the Riddler outline and resin ?-mark; the thing is 100% totally bitchen. Absolutely mental. It’s 9ft 6in vs. Tylers usual 10ft template. Scotty tested it yesterday at Blackies and let me tell you- prepare for lift off! The thing is nearly impossible to pearl or bury the nose in the flats. My mind has been completely F-ed after seeing, touching, and now shooting the board being ridden. Wow. Action photos being posted tomorrow…

PORTFOLIO/ARCHIVE
September 28th, 2009
It has almost been two complete years of me updating this thing every single day, as I’m nearing over 600 posts. I’ve had a lot of work to go through to select my ‘best’ work for my personal portfolio/archive. I originally started it with the idea of a gallery consisting of all the work on here- so viewers wouldn’t have to keep clicking ‘previous posts‘ at the bottom of this page, to see all the work I’ve been doing. But when the gallery reached 187 something images- I knew I needed to weed out the sucks, and make it a true portfolio.
I have spent the last week going through lots of work, picking and choosing images from the past two years only, to put in my web portfolio/archive. It has six (6) separate categories with ten (10) images in each gallery; 35mm/bw, 35mm/c, 120mm, 4X5, polaroid, and scans. They may possibly grow to fifteen (15) images in each, but for now, it will remain at ten (10) each. Take a look.

POLAROID TEST #092988
September 3rd, 2009
A while back, my good buddy Geoff let me borrow his RB67 for an extended period of time (basically, until he wants it back). I haven’t really ever shot 6X7 format before, except for a few times back in college (but my brain is a bit fried from that point in my life) and didn’t have a desire to take on another format. Well, Chad moved in last night, and yesterday we went over to Samys to get some supplies. I picked up a box of 120 Polaroids (only costing a total of $12 something for a box of 10- MUCH better than the $5 a piece 4X5 Polaroids) and shot this of Chad in the backyard. I’m assuming the redish/orange streak is from the defective color Polaroids that were living in the Mamiya Polaroid back for over a year… Either way, kinda dig it. Bad is good (at least for me).
